  • Pick the palm that will do best in your climate. You have to consider your climate before you pick the palm you plan on planting. If your area tends to have a mild, constant climate then you should be able to grow just about any type of palm. The good thing is, even if you are living in parts of the country that dips down into the twenties, you can still have a palm tree in your backyard. Even the shorter ones can do well in this weather.
